|

My husband and I are working on a tourist visa (wrong, I know). Our paperwork is in process and we are just waiting on our apostilled documents to arrive.
I know we have to leave the country and then re enter on a work visa... however, I have read conflicting reports on the interview portion. I read that it was once a requirement to have an interview done in your home country, then I read that this requirement was now being waved. Then, I recently read that it is still required if this was your first work visa in Korea.
I am just wondering what your experiences were.
Thank you. |

IF you are American you have Guam as an option.
If you are not, then you may be flying home for your visa.
SOMETIMES, even as a first timer, you can get one in Japan . This is NOT always a given and does have the risk of not being able to get one.
ALWAYS (unless you have an immigration violation) you can get a subsequent visa in Japan.

I just helped someone fill out his application for the Korean Consulate in the US. He thought that he would have to go in for an interview since he has never been in Korea. He does not. He has a PS contract though. I would contact your nearest consulate. |
