anyone heard it yet? the official release date is next week, but they have it available for free streaming on itunes.

Heard one song a friend of mine posted on facebook a while ago. It was pretty good, but I totally agree with you on not being the same without Frusciante. The guy they got to replace him did feature on a lot of frusciante's solo albums, so at least Frusciante has respect for him.

yeah i'm not too impressed so far... although i think i might be subconsciously/automatically disliking every song simply because john is missing. maybe in time i will like it.

while searching for news about the album i came across this interview of john from 2008. i've only watched the first 3 parts, but so far it's really good. classic john. he drops some wisdom in the third part.

i downloaded the leaked version and have been listening to it again and again. it's growing on me. josh's guitar work is a lot more subtle than john's but blends in nicely with flea's bass playing.

i'm a huge frusciante fan and am familiar with josh klinghoffer from john's solo records. i don't have any hate for josh but frusciante was such a creative force that shaped the bands whole sound that you can't help but feel like something is missing in this new album. no strong riffs and very little vocal harmonies.

and, anthony's vocal melodies in the past 2 albums have been kind of lackluster.
