|
|
I'm heading down to Daegu tomorrow for the World Athletics Championships. I'll be down there for the duration (nine days). But, of an evening, I want to get down and party! What are the good bars and clubs in Daegu? Classy places if there are any. Also staying at the Interburgo Hotel, how far is this from the main clubbing/bar area?
Thanks in advance. |

Didn't you just ask this a few months ago, the last time you did a stint here?
Which Interburgo are you staying? The one at Exco, or the one on Dongchon river?
The one at Exco will be a 15-20minute cab ride to Sam Duk So Bang Suh, which is the gateway to 'club street'.
The Interburgo on the river is 10minutes further away.
Once at Sam Duk So Bang Suh (all cabbies know it), you will see a "Buy the Way" convenience store, and a small street to it's right. Take that small street, and then take the first left. That street is lined with clubs, the 'classiest' of which IMO, is Pasha. Only techno music there if that matters.
The rest play poorly mixed, top 40 hip-hop. The most popular places seem to be Frog, and G2.
Frog is on the street aforementioned, and G2 is down the next left.
Here's a hand drawn map:

Sam Duk So Bang Suh is the Fire Station on the far right. Froh and G2 are down in the right lower corner. Pasha is one street up from Frog, where the red pepper symbol is.
Near Persian Piercing, there is a foreign owned bar that is very popular at the moment, named "Travellers". It's on the 2nd or third floor, so you have to look for it. |

for maps of the downtown area.
crescent covered the main clubs pretty well. nothing too classy down town. foreigner spots are pretty similar to the ones you'd find in any large korean city. korean spots are also your pretty typical anju/drink deal.
if you want to go clubbing, i'd stick to pasha. it's kind of like a small scale mass or m2. frog is terrible. g2 and mk are ok, but play pretty awful music.
haven't lived there in over a year, but i visited some friends a couple months back and the down town area is overrun with gi's since they lifted the curfew. almost more so than in itaewon. |

Thanks. What are the girls like in Daegu? More conservative than Seoul? I speak Korean so that isnt an issue. |
