Anyone out there British and JUST gone through the process???
I've done the visa stuff before but this time around, I seem to be even more enraged than the last time. London consulate really are useless, it's a wonder anything gets done.
Called to ask a simple question of the current visa fee, anyone know? 4 times I asked and they either didn't know, told me to check the website (which is never updated) and one girl said around 30.
NOT USEFUL!!!!!
So, help????
Thanks guys. |

The multiple entry visa was abolished last year.
It is no longer needed. You can exit and re-enter the country without losing your E2.
Clealry they haven't updated their website. |

So can anybody confirm how much it actually is? there is no link on the website saying its 25 and that footprints website is out of date I think as I don't think you need transcripts anymore. |

I'm so confused and I'm not even back in K-town yet. My plan of action is this:
Sit and watch the clock from breakfast to consulate opening hours
Engulf as much coffee and courage as I can
Call consulate
Ask and ask and ask until someone gives me an actual answer
Put the phone down and cry
Get on here and tell you all what happened
Maybe have a drink!
Loads of people keep saying 'check the site' but, the frickin site tells me it's 80 and that...is...mental! I'm 100% sure the last time I stuffed a few notes in to an envelope and sent it off to London. I'd remember sending 80, I would have weeped all over it. Unless they've changed the money rules it's around 25 or so. If it's $45 approx, it ain't gonna be 80
I WILL PREVAIL!!!! |

I paid around 32 pounds for my E-2 Visa, that was the price listed on the proper Korean Consulate website (last year). The very same section of the very same page now says 80 pounds. I don't think it's wrong. |

wait....
ARGH!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! ARGHHHHH!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Well, according to lady No.6 at the oh so useless consulate it is in fact now 80. I managed to talk to someone high up, probably as they were all frightened of the crazy girl on the phone. She was really nice and told me they really needed to update their website with the new rules (erm, you think?) and that yes, the new fee is in fact 80. She finished with a sigh that told me that it all stressed her out too. I felt better.
I asked why as that is a major MAJOR difference from 33. The answer was simple, the UK government decided 33 was too low for the volume of people wishing to work abroad. She was very honest about that.
So, I see, our conservative weirdo incompetent idiotic government want to punish people for wanting to leave this beautiful and perfectly functional country? Get a grip, people should be paying us to flee!!!!
ARGH!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
I thanked the lady and put the phone down and began writing a letter of courier new rage that will get sent to 'Direct gov' and quickly filed away never to be seen again. 40 would have been okay, but 80??? In the bigger picture that's not a lot but I've just travelled all over the world and i can go to both China and Indonesia and the combined visa would only be 65.
Stupid conservative muppets
Okay rant over. For British folks, 80. |

Dammit, I recently sent off a postal order for 100 as I wanted multiple entry but I guess that doesn't matter now? I just presumed multiple entry was necessary as when I was a student in Korea they made a big deal out of peoples single entry student visa's when coming back to Korea after christmas and made people change it when back in Korea. |

I got here 3 weeks ago. The visa fee was 80 as per the website. Can confirm that you need to apply for single entry, then go to immigration office here if you want to leave the country for a trip. |
