This darn pension thing again!
I am an Irish citizen working in Ulsan on my Irish passport.
I don't believe I can get my pension back in a lump sum. (like Americans)
I don't believe I am exempt from paying it (like South Africans)
I do believe that I can have it transferred to my pension plan back home though... I have 2 questions.
1) If I have it transferred back home to be applied to my Irish pension plan, how do I do this?
2) I have an American Fiance... can I submit all my paperwork (ticket out of here, ARC card, letter from employer etc.) to the Pensions Office, along with HER US bank account details and have my pension returned into her American Bank Account?
I think I'd much prefer the 2nd option.
Any ideas? Would really appreciate it as this is driving me nuts doing so much research and getting different pieces of info.
Thanks |

1) I don't think so. Check the specifics on the NPS website (read the actual treaty). http://english.nps.or.kr/jsppage/english/main.jsp
2) No. It is in your name and under your "Irish" passport.
