Bandwagon. Insert Koreans here.
Where's the petition to sue Samsung for high domestic product prices? Oh right, it's a Korean company! |

Shouldn't it read: 27,000 South Koreans are suing Apple and are keeping updated on the lawsuit via their iPhones |

So now Koreans are concerned about privacy issues? That's rich considering that you must enter your national id number to do anything online in Korea. Where is the uproar about that? |

They're right to sue. Customers couldn't even turn off their devices to protect their privacy.

Apple also revealed that a software bug caused iPhones to continue to send anonymous location data to the company's servers even when location services on the device were turned off. |
And they have a good case.

The Korea Communications Commission, South Korea's communications regulator, earlier this month ordered Apple's local operation to pay a 3 million won fine for what it said were violations of the country's location information laws.
Oh Byoung-cheol, a professor of information technology law at Seoul's Yonsei University law school, said that the KCC ruling is likely to bolster the plaintiffs' allegations of illegality by Apple and that could have an impact on possible cases in other countries. |

Seriously. Apple doesn't care as long as 54,000 Koreans buy iPhones this month. |

It's the same reason why many people jump into class action lawsuits in other countries: greed. They see an easy payday or some other benefit and it takes very little effort to join one. I say this having worked on in a class action lawsuit as a lawyer. Quite a few of the plaintiffs I interviewed couldn't give a crap of the issues involved. They just wanted some money back. And in this case, $1000 a head is very strong motivation. |

I read the following in a comment at Arstechnica. I'm not sure if it's true or not, but it seems reasonable.
The lawyer who is bringing the case was the guy that already sued Apple over this and won (alone). He won because Apple didn't bother to contest the suit (why would they over 1,000,000 won?). Now, he is telling people that he has already beaten Apple in court, so this is a sure thing. Here's the kicker: each member of the class action is paying him a 20,000 won fee to be a member of the suit. So, win or lose, this guy has already grossed about 540,000,000 won. He's truly an evil genius.
edit: whoops, I can't multiply by 2, apparently

If they win, I'm gonna jump on the bandwagon and sue as well. |

Hyundai Genesis owners should sue for the extra 15K they pay versus a U.S. customer. |
