i know there has been mention of this in the visa run thread in the travel forum, but has anyone been to hong kong within the last couple of months to do a visa run? did you manage to get the visa the same day you dropped it off?
these days, costs are pretty similar between fukuoka and hong kong flights and if i can get same-day processing, i'd rather spend a day in hong kong than fukuoka again. |

Historically, 2-3 day service.

interesting. ive seen two accounts on this forum of same-day service.
i guess the safer bet would be fukuoka then. |

Fukuoka is 2 day service (drop today, pick up tomorrow).
I don't know of anywhere that offers same-day service anymore (not since 2005/6).

24 hours processing. spoke with someone at the embassy today---
"drop it off at embassy opening, pick it up at embassy opening", she explained.
(in case this comes up in a google search or anyone else is interested) |

Was that at the HK consulate or the one in Japan?
24 hours sounds like 2 day service (drop today and pick tomorrow).
