Hey everyone. I was offered a job and told to send my documents, but I have not yet received a contract. Am I wrong for thinking that it is impossible for them to secure me a visa without a signed contract? Some people tell me this is how they got their jobs and that it's legit...but I can't help but thinking this is one of the more classic recruiter scams. |

It is a common thing for a recruiter to do (if they can get away with it) since it locks you into them and unable to obtain work through another recruiter (since you only have 1 set of original documents).
Don't do it.
Get an offer, look at a contract, talk to the teacher at the school THEN and ONLY then send your documents to the recruiter.

Hell no!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! I agree. That is a ridiculous request and they obviously think you are stupid. Don't even think about it; in fact, I wouldn't even give those morons my business. Anybody who has done that before got lucky. And yes you are right, a signed contract is a MUST for an E-2 visa issuance number, anyone who has told you otherwise has either been misinformed or is blowing smoke. |
