Hiya,
I've heard of Search Associates and I'm planning to go to the their job fair in in Sydney in January, but I want to make sure I'm making the right choice as that trip won't be cheap. Do you know of any other companies that do job fairs or any websites that specifically offer International school jobs? I am finishing my certification, so I feel like it's about time to spread my wings outta of Korea and try something new. Thanks for your help,
J

I assume you have already checked the common ones:
http://www.ibo.org/
http://www.tes.co.uk/ (look for their international jobs section).

There are several others but I don't know the URL off the top of my head.

Hey, thanks for the links. Just starting the process now for next September, so any help is appreciated.

Here's a link I found with good info if anyone else is in the same boat.

Search also have a fair in Bangkok in January -- if you're in Korea that might make life easier?

List of Search fairs 2012:

http://www.search-associates.com/associates/fair_info.cfm

Don't forget to check out these fair providers ...

Council of International Schools

http://www.cois.org/

International Schools Services

www.iss.edu

Have you heard of The International Educator? Trade paper for the international schools scene; they also have a huge job section which is probably the best resource for int. jobs outside of fairs.

www.tieonline.com

Now you do have to subscribe, but it's only about $30 for a year and I think it's very much worth it. Schools advertise directly and there are tons of vacancies.

Another invaluable resource is International Schools Review, where you can get the inside scoop on schools from teachers:

http://www.internationalschoolsreview.com/

Again, this one is a paying subscription; but it gave me a head's up about a seriously dodgy school I was about to interview with! Very good for finding out about the smaller schools you may not have heard of -- and whether they're worth looking into or not.

Finally keep in mind the quality markers for international schools: 1) accreditation from a reputable organisation like CIS, the Middle States Association, etc and 2) non-profit status.

Of course, a school isn't necessarily bad if it doesn't have either/both of the above; but in my experience those are the ones which require deeper digging to really find out what they're like ...

Hope this helps --- best of luck!!!
