I'm dubious.

I'm sure they have on tape whatever they say they have on tape. But really? A dorky used car salesman meeting up with a Mexican drug cartel dude to plot the assassination of a Saudi ambassador on US soil?

Why?

Yes, I know the Iranian gov't is radical and fanatical and all that. But does that automatically mean they are stupid? I admit it is not always easy to tell the difference between radical and stupid, but...

It could be a case of the FBI entrapping some hapless dude who doesn't know when to shut up. This looks more like a ham-handed way of pacifying the Saudis after we pulled the rug out from under them last spring in Cairo...or something. Maybe a combination of the two...or three: maybe heading off a Netanyahu air strike?
