No, don't misconstrue the meaning of this post as some sort of cry for help.

It's just a crass writing style. If you think it's funny, don't steal it. I've copyrighted it already.

Anyone here not have an FB account?

My new name for Facebook these days is 'Fakebook.'

Sure, you can think you are popular with all the friend requests you get.

Not to mention it's a requisite these days for a new friendship to lead to a FB invite.

You can subscribe to stuff and not have the possibility to delete your instance on each utility, most of this thanks to advertising revenue - the more users a site has, the bigger advertisers they can attract.

In a way, would you be committing 'social network suicide' if you deleted FB account?

I'm about ready to leave FB. I wonder if they'll even allow me to do that.

FB is a love/hate relation kind of thing. I think it's pathetic watching my friends post updates all day long in the hopes someone will reply to them to make them "feel" wanted, or popular. I have NEVER....EVER posted a facebook update. EVER.
BUT it is an excellent tool to keep in touch with family and the friends you want to keep in touch with. It's invaluable in that sense.
But, the high school popularity contest thing is for the kids, grown adults should refrain on posting multiple daily updates. A: we don't care, and B: it makes you look needy for attention in my eyes.

I hate the phone. And it's much simpler to write a quick note and move on. Plus the difference in time zones.

Email?

I do that as well.

Snail mail, post cards?

Are you kidding? Who does these anymore?

I use social media, wouldn't say I love it like a 13 year old girl does!

but I use it for the basic staying in touch with old friends and family etc.
before facebook came around I didn't contact my friends from back home.
but at least now with face book, I can see what they are up too in their lives and leave messages on their pages.

but at the same time, I feel social media is ruining the world!
I know it sounds crazy, but look, the world is now hiding behind keypads!
people text now, people are afraid to pick up the phone and have a conversation, people update their pages with stupid stuff, like
"I am in Burger king eating a burger"
I mean come on, seriously, would you send out a SMS to all your friends 5 years ago, saying you were in burger king ?
you go to clubs and people are with their smart phones , it's an addiction!

facebook and twitter is good in a way, but the world is probably better without it.
But the scary thing, it's here to stay.. FOR EVER!
I am thinking about canceling my accounts maybe one day I will.
who knows, or maybe I will be 85 years old updating my status
"At the doctors office, Doc said I need to lay off the Viagra's it's not good for my heart" sorry ladies. LOL

It's great for picture sharing and emailing people. Block or delete the people you don't like

People can just use Skype or E-Mail. Even Skype has gotten into social networking with links to Facebook.

i've always found it funny when people criticise facebook. if you don't like it, don't use it.

and don't look down on other people for using it.
