What is happening at GEPIK? Does anyone know who is in charge?

The previous head coordinator is being replaced by another coordinator.

I am not sure what the responsibility of Head Coordinator is, but I'm sure there are many individuals much higher then this position on the GEPIK ladder. So I wouldn't say this is a "leadership crisis".

Yeah. If you have something more to say than your ultra vague OP then share it.

I never ever hear what's happening at GEPIK. I don't ask, I don't want to know. I don't care. I get the sense my coteachers don't either. So long as my school has their funding, and they apparently do until the end of my current contract, I could care less what happens at HQ. I'm guessing the current shakeup means there won't be a useless "teacher training" session I'll need to go to this year.

Dain Bae resigned. Someone else- 'Anry' Lee or Kim took her place.

And some GEPIK districts are being merged- probably due to fewer teachers come Fall semester.

Anything I'm missing?

Seriously. Sojusucks, is usually an informative/helpful poster (especially about Costco!). What's with the obvious troll post?

If you heard something, post it. We are all ears. Don't ask to hear about something you already heard. What is that?

no surprise if DB resigned, She's in a no win situation. She'll get crapped all over for GEPIK's current disorganization and difficulties and many NET's will blame her for the upheaval. In reality, she never had any power within the structure and was merely a figurehead.

does it really matter who the gepik coordinator is and who the district coordinators are? and how many districts there are?

no. not a whit.

here's this off her FB page. She's also starting a new job next week. Never says whether it was a firing or resignation. I get the sense (could be dead wrong, just a "feeling") it was somehow mutual and negotiated beforehand.

‎31st of August will be my last day here in GEPIK. I have been working for GEPIK since 2006, and it has been a pleasure to work for/with GEPIK. I have formed many friendships that I will cherish and I would like to tahnk all our teachers for their support and love. Thank you.

There's at least one GEPIK insider on this board who should be the one to post what has been happening with the GEPIK meltdown. GEPIK recruiters know all about it, too. It's been bad. Teachers are being cut from jobs in mid-contract in clear "violation" of that letter GEPIK sent to foreign teachers. If I say anything, that GEPIK insider will do his usual "GEPIK is all rainbows and lollipops" reply.

My old job said they would be having video calls direct from USA or AUS as the teacher starting next semester.

Will be fun for her to update me on how that turns out; she isn't hopeful.
