Here is my issue, and if it's been answered before links would be wonderful.

When my last contract finished, the public school I worked for combined my last month's salary and severance, which put me into a higher tax bracket. This then altered the amount of money I was supposed to pay for medical insurance. However, they told me I had to pay for the month AFTER my contract finished (they reported to the government that I resigned a month after my contract really ended). By this time I was already at another school, and deductions had been made for insurance.

I called the health insurance office, and told them the situation; that the school already took money out for my last month, and my new school took money out for the first month (there were no breaks). They stated that as long as I paid for the months, that I shouldn't have to pay again. I called my previous employer about this, and they never pressed the issue again, and I never paid the extra money.

It's been a while since this has happened and I haven't heard from them. Could they some how affect my immigration status from this issue (Black list or cause some other hardship)?

Nope. You have fulfilled your obligation. If they were still pursuing the issue, you'd have heard about it by now. Immigration will only hold you for major offenses. They don't care if you owe someone 60 bucks.
