I understand you have to get your diploma photocopy notarized and apostilled, not the original.

However, early on when I was unclear on the process, I had my university (Boston University) issue me a duplicate diploma which I have already gotten notarized with an apostille. It is not my original diploma, but it essentially looks like a real diploma. And it has the notarization on it with the apostille affixed on the back of it.

Will the duplicate diploma suffice or will it have to be a photocopy only?

If I do have to get a photocopy and do the whole apostille process over again I live in NJ, anybody know how long that will take?

It should be good because it sound like its not the original. But to be on the safe side you can always do it over again.

It is fine.

The reason they don't want originals is because they won't return it and originals have sentimental value to us "westerners".
