When you make trips home to see your family, do they help pay for the airfare? If so, is it because you ASKED or because they volunteered?

My family seems to resent the fact that I haven't been home but they've never offered to assist with the airfare. I'm not complaining but I only make around 1000 a month (I live in Thailand) and I don't have a very strong desire to pay 1300 bucks for a 3 week visit.

Just curious

Only in the case of a death in the family, and even then I wasn't working.

I'm a mama's boy so my parents flew me home for Christmas for my first two contracts here. If they weren't paying I'd probably have flown myself home the first year for a vacation.

I've never had a Korean employer pay my way.

Why would you need them to pay for your trip to Korea to see your family who are Korean and who live in Korea when you also live in Korea? Give it up already.

They've never done it, and if they offered, I would say no.
I'm a grown up.
