is awesomeness

i listen to pretty much everything Pop, Techno, Trance, R&B, Hip Hop, Country, etc. etc. but i've fallen in love with Korean music

its kinda learning something new and compared to Billboard Top 50, its way better nowadays since the Top 50 has maybe two or three good songs on it if that

anyone else here a Korean Music fan, if so favorite artists?

keep rocking that attitude good sir.

the rest of us will try and listen to it with an open mind even if it doesn't make our genitals tingle with joy and maybe it will even give us something fun to talk about with all the kgirls who love it so.

also in recent news, my local sports team is better than your local sports team.

most obvious troll thread of the year.

but I'll bite anyways.

as admitted by K mgmt companies

K pop = European songwriting, American choreography combined with young Korean robot performers who are essentially interchangeable.

this adds up to ... "bad".

especially the European pop songwriting part.

I like to listen to real music where people actually perform and play musical instruments. I don't like to waste my time listening to people attempt to "sing" using auto-tune and other vocal efx, so much so that it sounds, and looks like a robot choir. Not to mention the ridiculous outfits, hair and makeup some of them have.

You might argue that the girls are hot, cute whatever, and some of them are for sure. But when you really think about it, probably 90+% of kpop artists will end up being forgotten about within a few years or less while having wasted much of their life chasing some kind of dream that has lead them nowhere.

/end rant

I like K-pop because it's ridiculous.

It's entertaining, even if it's not very "artistic" compared to other forms of music. Which I do enjoy other forms of music as well, but k-pop has a very special place in my heart. I must admit though that I got into it back in the day, when I was just a little teenybopper. I saw a tiny pixelated music video of H.O.T. and my 14 year old self fell in love. Still absolutely adore Moon Hee Jun to this day.

I also really like Korean ballads for their ridiculousness. You'll never hear an American or Canadian singer singing anything even close to the same meaning. I used to half ass translating to my mom because she'd just get so annoyed by the overwhelming ick factor. But that's precisely why I love them!

you've got shitty music everywhere you go.

kpop companies no longer sell "music." it's so much more complex than that. Check out the Monocle special on kpop music, hosted by Tyler Brule.

What garbage? Perhaps in you.

The reality is that a billion people out there around the world pay tribute to this ever-growing genre of K-Pop.

Any proof of that billion figure or are you pulling it out of your rear?

Not gonna lie, KARA and Girl's Day have some pretty good music. And I'm a total snob!
