i hope im posting in correct forum if not please move thread admins.
Today for the first time i met a Korean guy in the elevator with a fly fishing rod, my Korean is terrible so i couldn't ask him where he fishes.
Back in South Africa i used to bass and trout fish all the time as i dont like sea water fishing much and find fresh water fishing allot more relaxing and enjoy the nature part of it allot.
TL:DR
does anybody have a clue where i can find info on fresh water fishing in Korea, and if there are any lakes/rivers close (1-2 hours train/bus) to Incheon or Seoul
thanks for any info guys
i did some searching and i have seen there certain species of trout here but i have no clue how to go about finding them -.-
trout or salmon i dont mind they are the same family afaik |

I've been bass fishing here a few times and the fishing is surprisingly good. I went to the North Han River and fished off shore. We caught five fish in the morning.
If you don't drive you can take the subway to Gapyeong station and then take a taxi to the river. Probably a 5000 won taxi ride. Namisum is near by and worth a trip for sight seeing. |

I met several Koreans through Facebook who took me out bass fishing many times last year when I put it out I was looking to go fishing. It was fun being picked up and taken out to places I would had never found on my own and learning a lot more in the process by being able to talk in English. Our activities not only included bass fishing, but also ocean fishing for flounder as well as other activities like ocean kayaking, hiking, and visiting Buddhist temples. They told me the American large mouth bass were introduced about 30 years ago by the bait shops in order to sell the American tackle and gear what was then still American made. The bass and bluegill live fine in Korea, because the native snakeheads are not doing so well due to over harvesting. I couldn't find out anything on catfish and carp. |
