I'm currently in Korea for vacation and looking for jobs as well. I had some phone interviews while in the states, but turned down the two job offers given. These interviews were 10 min phone conversations and not really an interview. Since I have been in Korea I have gone to two in person interviews and they will not accept a phone interview. I would rather talk over the phone like 90% of their other hires. Should I just tell the recruiters I'm back in the states, but still using a Korean phone? Or am I being lazy and should just go to multiple in person interviews to get a Hagwon job?
Thanks |

IF you want the job, go see them.
If you don't want the job, stall them or give excuses.

So you feel it is a valid request? Seems like 2 years ago I could have gotten away with telling them no, but with the market the way it is, I guess I'll have do whatever they wish to get the job.
Do you think it is unreasonable for an in person interview if I'm in Bucheon and the job is in Busan? Thanks for your response Tom. |

Why don't you do a Skype interview? If the job was a position that you're really interested in, then go, so that you can check out the place and apartment. |

I traveled five hours for my current job, and I am glad I did. If the job looks like it is worth your time, do it. |

Now the school wants me to work prior to receiving my visa. They advised me that since I have applied for the F4 that is shouldn't be a big deal. I won't get in trouble.....I'm thinking this is a big NO. Is this okay. I've had plenty of recruiters tell me this is fine, I'm assuming this just want to get me in a position. |
