|
|
I know that there are some people out there that really don't like Pagoda and Direct English. However, from what I hear, some branches are better than others. Can anyone give feedback on which locations are better than average and which ones are to be avoided?
To narrow the scope, I am only looking at Seoul, so info on specific Seoul branches would be appreciated. Thanks in advance. |

If you want to be offered block shifts, you want to work at the one in Gangnam. |

Just know that Pagodas' headquarters is in Seoul, The Gangnam branch, and your EVERY move will be monitored. Also be prepared to teach up to 8+ hours a day,as well as weekends. The turnover rate is extensive.
You're much better off in Busan--
You can PM me for more details--I don't want to reveal too much more here |

None. You wake up early. You go to sleep late. You never get any sleep. It feels like you are at work your whole life. You work Saturdays. You are video taped. You are the lowest paid English teacher in Korea.
Have fun! |

Thanks for the feedback, everyone. It is especially nice to know that block shifts are possible at the Gangnam location. Split shifts have always been the dealbreaker that has kept me from teaching adults these last few years. |

I know someone who got a block shift after six months at the Samseong DE branch. But, he does say that the downside to that branch is that the housing in that area in VERY expensive, so you'd either need to spend more time traveling, four times a day, or spend more money on a closer apartment.
If you're a good teacher, and can put up your own key money, you can make a decent wage, but you will be working upwards of 8 hours a day to do that. |
