Traffic. It's always more crowded on the roads, always a longer wait at the lights, always more people on the highway, always harder to find parking, always jerks in the way, always on Friday.
Why?
And please don't tell me, "Because everyone is in a rush to get home" because that doesn't make sense to me. Isn't everyone in a rush to get home every day? Where are all these people Monday through Thursday? They stay at work longer on those days, but somehow get off early every Friday? And it's not just worse after school. It's worse before school, during school, all throughout the day.
Every time I drive on Friday, it can be at like 2:45 pm, I'm thinking, "Don't you people have JOBS?" How is this possible?
I'm home now, obviously, and everything's cool and it's the weekend and I'm happy. Just a question. Traffic is always worse on Fridays but there is no explanation?[/b] |

It's because of weekend trips.....or so I heard.
More people take the car to work on Fridays because they're going somewhere for the weekend right after work......usually to visit friends and family in the country. |

| The subway rush hours on Friday also seem to be worse, though you'd assume they'd all be the same. People fleeing Seoul for the weekend? |

| I assume for the same reason traffic is worse on Fridays in the US. People want to get home ASAP. |

I think it's that people make plans on Friday evenings--and drive either to meet their friends or to shop for stuff with which to entertain their friends.
What I would like to know is why the Monday morning rush is so much worse than any other day of the week. Probably the same back home, so why is it? |

it is actually because they are trying to get home. not home in the way you think it however. they are not trying to get to their own apartments, they are trying to get to their parents and grandparents houses. a good majority of people go to their folks and grandparents house on the weekends. in fact i knew a girl who used to FLY to her parents house on the southern part of korea from seoul every weekend. |
