Does anyone know how Korean public health insurance deals with pre-existing conditions?
Are they rejected for coverage? |

You're not in the states any more.
As long as you are employed and have a valid ARC you are entitled to be covered and there are no exclusions based on "pre-existing conditions".
Such are the hazards of "social medicine".
That said however, the coverage is not 100% either and, depending on your condition, the co-pay may not be cheap (typically you would be looking at 1-2 million for surgery and a week in hospital (still a whack cheaper than the states).
Stay away from the "international clinics. They are 2-5 times MORE expensive than you need to pay for the same care elsewhere.

No, it covers pre-existing conditions. If it is a life-threatening disease, you only have to pay 3% of the bill. I have stage 4 sarcoma so I pay only 3% for any health issues I have. |

Depends on how many people you're willing to share the room with. If I recall correctly, a private room was around 200k/night. Sharing a room with others is much, much cheaper, but you have to be willing to put up with listening to other patients' families going in and out all day and night, crying babies, etc... |
