Hi:
I am interested in finding a promising and thus reliable laser clinic in Seoul for the purposes of facial hair removal (upper lip, chin, etc). I have found a clinic called Woo's Skin Care Clinic. As anyone heard of this one? If so, what do you think...is it good? Or does anyone have any other recommendations? I am also wondering if anyone knows about any places that do electrolysis?
Thanks |

It's supposedly the best one for foreigners and its been recommended several times in the past. Sorry I don't have any links.
Apparently you need specific lasers for different types of hair and if your hair type isn't the same as Korean hair then 99% of the places here in Korea can't do the removal properly.
The Woo Clinic is supposedly one of the only ones in Korea that can do foreign hair. |

Yes, I can vouch for Woo's Skin clinic. I have been going there for the past year for laser hair removal. They are very good. I see Dr. Geun S Lee (Alex), who speaks English along with Chinese and Japanese.
I've had laser hair removal in Canada and the UK, but Woo's skin clinic is better than any experience I've had before. For one, they use the Gentlemax Alexendrite laser, which is very good for pale skin/dark hair. They also have one other type of laser, I believe, too. Furthermore, it is Dr. Alex himself who is doing the actual operation, whereas back home it would just be some technician, and not the doctor who owns the clinic.
Prices aren't cheaper than back home, so I was dissapointed at that. I've heard that most cosmectic operations in Korea cost less than getting them done in the west, but the prices seem to be the same as other countries I've been too. However, the clinic is state of the art and the service done is excellent.
You can bargain with Dr. Alex on the price if you order in a package. Furthermore, every time you go the price should go down 10% from the time before. Finally, once you get a firm price, offer him cash, and he should take the price down even lower.
goodluck, let me know if you have any other questions. |

Out of curiosity, what did you get done and how much did you pay?
I wanted to get my chest done in the US 4 or 5 years ago and they quoted me almost 4,000$, which was no way in my budget, nor would I pay now. So I am just curious, does it still cost that much?
I think I would pay like 500-600 for the operation, but not a few grand. |

I intially went in to just get my chest done, but then I said what the heck and went a little crazy on a whole big package. I got my chest, back, arms & hands, and feet done.
The chest should be 300,000 alone. This only includes the chest and not the abdomen/stomach. Each time you go it drops by 10%, so second time is 270,000, 3rd time is 240,000, etc.
Have you have any laser done on your chest before? Depending on how thick your hair is it could take up to 8 - 10 sessions for full removal.
I'm a caucasian male with pale skin, and dark brown/black hair.
I first bought a package that included 4 laser sessions on the chest, 4 back, 4 arms & hands, and 4 feet. It was 3,200,000 won.
Then after that I just paid for individual treatments. I got 3 more chest operations done, 3 done on the abdomen, and 3 on my hands. paying individually for each.
500-600 isin't going to get you too much. Only about 2 sessions. But you need many sessions to remove the majority of the hair. Also, they have to be spaced out about 6 weeks apart each, so you need a long time frame to do this over. 2 sessions on its own wont really do too much. After about 5 or so sessions you really start to see a difference.
I know its expensive but i've been hairy my whole life so being hair free finally is a really nice feeling, and worth the money in my opinion.
PS. get the numbing cream on the chest (extra 30 bucks) but without it can be really painful! yikes
PPS. Like I said before, you can negotiate with Dr. Alex a bit. I would offer him 1,000,000 CASH for 5 operations on the chest including the numbing creme. After that you should have a good idea of where you want to go from there. You will have a significant portion removed, but not full. You can decide from there to stay with the partial removal, or continue with more sessions. Offer him 130,000 won cash if you want to go for the 6th treatment. 100,000 won for 7th etc.
But hey shop around too, I'm sure you can find other options as well. |

thanks for the info. I might go in and have a chat with him, but that price seems pretty high for a treatment that has been around for a few decades. |
