Are there any true Western bars in Ilsan? Serving western bar food, showing hockey, football, etc. or is it just korean owned bars that Ilsan local westerners have gathered at for one reason or another? |

I dunno how 'true' a bar you're looking for, but eh. I'm certainly not going to find anything like my favorite dives back home, but I've come to accept this.
Regardless, I tend to hit up Le Pub when I feel like getting my drink on. They've got a meager selection of bar food (nachos, wings, fries...and I think that's it), a couple of imported beers, darts, pool, and some friendly, English-speaking bartenders.
They've got a big projector TV, too- it usually shows Korean baseball or whatever, but I think Thursday is 'sports night' or something where you can put in requests on what to watch.
I've also heard good things about the LP music bar...somewhere. Haven't had the chance to swing by just yet. I should fix this! |

LP bar is HArd Rock. At the end of Meat Street on the second floor. Probably near Zan Bar 2.
Sunny's (Italian Pub) in Baekseok, exit 6. |

jazz...., I think the place you are thinking of is called 'Old Rock'. I can say this is one of my personal favourites; good music selection, and an excellent owner who is more than willing to play your requests.

Yeah, a new foreign owned pub has opened near meat street. I haven't been yet, but it's been getting good reviews. Cheap beers on tap and the standard array of bar foods - burgers, wings, nachos etc. They do a wing night as well and show all major sporting events.
Anyway, its called 'Whiskey Weasel'. They are next to meat street just past La Festa and across the street from the BoBo County Office-tel. They have a facebook page for better directions. |
