If my work visa is expiring soon and I have a ticket out of the country (after the expiration date), is it possible to go to immigration and get a 30 day tourist (non-working) extension? Thanks. |

USUALLY, no, because you are unregistered and it would go beyond your 90 days (all foreigners MUST be registered if they are in Korea for more than 90 days)
BUT I am not the immigration officer that is looking at you and there ARE exceptions to the 90 day rule (eg: Canadians with a 6 month stamp don't need to get an ARC)..
You MAY get a few days until your flight but would not likely get 30. Extensions of this nature are on a case by case basis.
There is no blanket policy like there is for registered foreigners.
