I need to replace some nuts and bolts and a door hinge in my apartment.
I asked many of my friends if they knew of a hardware store to get such items and all I found was a crappy little place in an underground shopping mall which didn't have anything I needed.
Any help would be great. Thanks. |

Guro or Cheongyecheon.
Guro Station, on the northwest exit, cross the plaza and cross the street. Guro Tool Market is the largest in Korea.
Second place is along the Euljiro/Jongno-ro, by the stream. It's the second best place to go (or first best IF you know the stores - great place between Euljiro something and Jongno 3-ga). Either way, that's where you go. |

I've noticed a lack of hardware stores in Korea. I guess they're hidden away in the back alleys. I guess there isn't enough space between all the coffee shops and phone shops in korea!
For your information the korean word for hardware store is 철물점. |

Koreans tend not to do a lot menial work themselves, they'll often call someone even if it's a simple as dropping a blue cleaning puck into the toilet tank. |
