I'm almost finished (due Nov 7th!!) and just wondering who is working on theirs. Difficulties, obstacles, etc...care to share? For me, the formatting is a pain in the ass!

Motivation has been a struggle for me. After writing 2000 or 2500 word papers each week and 30 page pagers per semester for each course class for 3 semesters it has become a struggle to finally complete the paper. I know the motivation has been to get the piece of paper but it sure is tough. And it is not just me, other classmates, past and present also claim to feeling the same way.

Yup, a draft of my dissertation is due in a few days. Formatting is definitely a pain. Not getting sidetracked is another problem...

Mine is for MA in English Lit. Thinking about a PhD because I would be adding on to the topic of my MA thesis, however, I'll probably be in Korea for a while and don't really want to do one at a Korean university. I have thought about it, but I'd have to juggle working, having kids, and studying , which is utterly ridiculous. I don't have kids yet, but my husband and I are thinking about trying in a few years. I truly love school and learning, and being out of the classroom (as a student) whilst researching and writing kills me. I'll probably fill that classroom void for the time being by enrolling in some Korean language classes.

Does anyone have to do a defense soon?

Mine is for my Ph.D. in Korean studies. My defense is soon (not exactly sure when) and the dissertation has to be published by the end of December.
