This is actually my third contract: The first was for 6 months. Then I completed a year contract. Now, I'm more than 6 months into my 2nd 1-year contract in a public school.

What happens if I turn in a 30 day notice now?

What happens with the severance pay?

I think the way it works is -- I should get servance pay of 1 month's pay for each of the 2 years I've worked for SMOE. I'm not sure since the first contract that made up this 2 years was a 6 month contract. I think at minimum I'd get 1 month's severance for the 1 year contract I finished...???...

Since I'm past 6 months into this new contract, I don't think I'd have to pay back any money to them on that.

Of course, there would be no airfare home.

Anything else in monetary terms?

Wow, iggy, you are really unhappy, aren't ya? Sorry you're going through this...it's obvious from all of your posts.

No, per SMOE contract, after 6 months you don't have to pay back airfare. You have to be paid severance for any years completed. Yes, your airfare home is gone if you give notice. I am not sure what will happen with your deposit, if you have gone with provided housing (don't know if it applies for you, though).
