I just had this happen to my phone and the sk telecom dudes are stumped. I've already did a soft reset to all default settings and tried chanign the ckernel to no avail.
I did install the firmware update myself on a sony x10i |

Very odd. The only way I could see this becoming a problem is if you updated your Radio when you updated. Otherwise, Gingerbread along shouldn't turn off your 3G unless you hit the setting to do so.
You may want to see if you can downgrade your Radio if at all possible. |
