Hey all,

I was thinking about getting a bike for just some casual/leisure riding but I noticed it has started to get cooler. This is actually my preferred weather so I was wondering how long it will last?! I don't get paid until early october and won't be able to buy a bike until then so I was wondering if there will still be time for me to enjoy the better weather. This is my first year in Korea so i'm not too sure about the weather patterns here.

I live in one of the cities neighboring seoul. Also, I get off work around 3ish, will it start getting dark a lot sooner too?? I'd liek to be able to ride after work a bit too.

The weather changes quite fast when it first start, so you might have to start wearing gloves to keep it comfortable. You can bike through the whole winter if you put on a hat too, but it might not be for pleasure.

I bike in the cold, and if dressed properly, it's not too bad. However, once the snow and slush starts building up on the streets, that's when I put my bike on the indoor trainer. I just don't feel comfortable (safe) riding in those conditions, though there are many that do.

I bike to ALL of my classes in ALL seasons in ALL types of weather. The ONLY time I don't ride is when it is snowing or rainy. I probably ride between 60 and 120 minutes every working day. Get a helmet and lights. Unfortunately, quality locks like Cryptonites and Bulldogs are pretty hard to find here. So, be careful where you leave your bike.

You might be better off ordering some good locks from GMarket, or failing that, an overseas dealer. Smile

I've just ordered a Kryptonite on Gmarket for about 60,000. It's being imported from the States (had to agree to give my details to customs), so no idea how long it'll take.

And I'll ride in the rain...just not when there's snow/slush on the ground. In my experience, two wheels don't work very well in those conditions...especially on the steep hills where I live.

Also, anyone have any recommendations on a hybrid bike in the 200-300,000W range?? I've looked through GMarket and noted some of the brands and tried to find some info about the quality ect but I haven't been able to find much info.
