I know people complain about it now and have in the past but I have tried it a couple of times and once i got the message 'our systems indicates that you are doing multiple searches and will not continue' (or something close to that) and today all I got was a blank screen.

I am curious to know why it is always such a problem, especially when you are looking for answers before bothering posters with what they deem to be stupid questions?

http://searcheslcafe.com/

Enter your search into the Google box, and it will search Dave's for you, instead of the long-broken and long-overdue-for-an-overhaul search function.

There are others as well -- if you Google for "How to search Dave's ESL Cafe," you get several different sites and ways...which really ought to be a hint to the folks at the site, but hey, a work-around is a work-around....

The search function works fine if you follow the instructions written on the left of the search bar.

If you google whatever you're looking for + ESL cafe you'll usually find what you need.

Yeah. I use the search function now an then and it works fine. Just follow the instructions. The reason there's such an outcry about Dave's search function is because people are usually entering more than one word and not using the *and*.
