Hi Everyone,

I`m interested in completing a TEFL course online and considering which one to take. I`ve heard some courses offer an 80 hour course and others a 120 hour course, are they both the same or is the course with the longest hours better?

Also, which online service is the best and can anyone point me in the right direction, for example cost etc.

Cheers,

Dave

Are you sure you need a TEFL course? Will you continue working in Korea?

Hagwons don't require it and it's not enough a qualification for a Uni job.

I`ve read some of the postings of the Unis and after a Masters degree they require someone with two years experience and a teaching certificate.

Hoe can you do the certificate all by distance? Isn't there a practical component to most of these certificates?

Qualifications aside, what about the value of the course for continued personal development as a teacher?

From a qualification standpoint, I agree that it's not really applicable in Korea, but it's good on the resume if you want to make yourself more marketable in Thailand, Vietnam, Hong Kong, who place more value on teaching certs.
