If you use humidifers to add moisture to the air in your home, please read this. Those chemicals you put in the water to kill bacteria have been found to cause serious lung problems. My wife had problems with this, and it was really terrible for her. She coughed so hard that she cracked some ribs. The doctors couldn't explain what was making her sick either. Our newborn baby was sick, too. We knew something was wrong, and I often suspected the liquid chemicals from this, so I cut it way back and the problems went away. Some people have actually died from this, or had lung transplants. We were filled with fear after reading this, especially because of my wife and baby's health problems last year:

The scary thing is that the stuff is still on the shelves at some stores, and on the internet. So PLEASE don't buy it, either in liquid or tablet form. We've tossed our cheaper ultrasonic humidifers that don't heat the water to boiling. We're also going to have to work harder to clean-out the humidifers so they don't get bacteria inside.

The government in all of its infinite wisdom says it won't do anything until the exact cause of the deaths is confirmed.

What happened to your family is a disgrace. Surely the product passed some quality control? Surely it's been approved by some governing body?

Sue somebody.

Well done. Many posters on here excrete several pages of padded, mind-numbing, overly elaborate stupidity in one post. Your post was informative, important, and succinct.

I also stay away from chemically based mosquito repellent. I won't trust anything that puts chemicals into the air - it's like homemade pollution.
