I've been here for two years and I have really started to miss American food--ALOT--these past couple months.
I decided not to be a prisoner to Korean food, and I'm going out this weekend to get some ingredients to make these foods below.
I found a couple vids on Youtube that I'd like to share with you. Please check them out, you'll be glad you did. These recipes kick ass!
I really like this guy, I've been following him for a while. He has a nice voice (I mean that in the most hetero kind of way) and explains what he's doing in an easy way to understand, his name is Chef John Mitzewich:
His Mac and Cheese:

His Buttermilk Fried Chicken:

His Homemade Cheese: (the reason I started this thread was because of the cheese thread on here, so I figured I share it here:

And if you're really feeling adventurous, check out this guy's Peppercorn Steak (Steak Au Poivre) This recipe will make your mouth water.
His name is Chef Jean Pierre (he'll crack you up too, he's funny as hell):

Glad you liked it Nathan.
I just noticed, though, that you would need an oven to finish the Mac and Cheese off with. Forgot about that bit, and most of us don't have ovens in Korea.
BUT the steak you can do all in the pan, and I believe you can get all of the ingredients here--that sauce looks to die for. Check out Chef Jean Pierre's "garlic mashed potatoes" too.
Too good! |
