|
|
Hey, I realize that this is a pretty general question (yes, I googled it already, no luck), but I was wondering roughly how many English teachers there are per elementary, middle, and high school in Korea. I'm applying through EPIK and just want to know if I should expect to be the only foreign teacher in my entire school, or if there will be a couple others.
Thanks |

Chances are you'll be the only foreigner in your school.
There is a chance that you'll have one other foreigner at your school sometimes.
In some places, there are two foreigners that work at middle schools. Usually they divide their time between the middle school and then some elementary school(s). So maybe one foreigner works 50% middle school 50% elementary school(s) and the other works 75% middle school 25% elementary school(s). |

You will most likely be the only one. I worked in a PS with one other foreigner in my first year, but they were hired separately and not through EPIK. In my current public school I am the only foreign teacher and this is the case for everyone else I know who is working in the public schools system. My first year was a very rare case. |
