Seems pretty legit. The bill apparently OKs the "consideration" of race, ethnicity and gender when considering candidates for admissions, but somehow should avoid "giving preference". I'm not sure what that's supposed to mean. You can consider something so long as it doesn't effect your decision?
It seems pretty obvious that socio-economic status should be considered for admissions, but do we really need to include race in the admissions process? Doesn't that just invite racism? |
