I can't recommend a book per se, but perhaps a Google or Amazon search might bring up something worth buying. You can always read the feedback comments on Amazon for a better idea. If you do come across anything, then post it here for others to see.

Depends on who you teach.

With adults, I like Side by Side. With kids, Let's Go and English Time (bit outdated though unless they have a new edition) are good.

If you are starting out, you shouldn't rely on one book yet. Use various books and try out different lesson plans. After you teach 1-2 years, you will get an idea of which lessons work for you.

Are you looking for a grammar reference book?

If so, I'd recommend 'Practical English Usage' by Michael Swan. It's easy to find and has a lot of good info.

I can also recommend 'Cambridge Grammar of English: A Comprehensive Guide' by Ronald Carter and Michael McCarthy.

Both of those books focus on common usage and based on corpus research.

If you are looking for a book that covers all points of English grammar then you might like to try 'A Comprehensive Grammar of the English Language' by Randolph Quirk et al. It's quite pricey though. I have a copy and it is very thorough. There is also a more condensed version called 'A Student's Grammar of the English Language' by Sidney Greenbaum and Randolph Quirk - much easier on the wallet.

Murphy's - Grammar in Use for a reference book.

There are different levels, so check through which one you need.

For coursebooks for kids, I second what's been mentioned and I'd add

That one that I can't remember the name of with the 2 kids and a picture
of the eiffel tower. Oh yes, Up and Away.

(I wouldn't use this as a main course book though, just a suppliment, it's far too boring to be used alone)

The workbooks for "American English Today" are helpful too.

The Grammar Lab is OK for kids as well, but it can get a bit too much
sometimes.

You could look through the workbooks of various ESL coursebooks and see what they cover. There are far too many to mention here.

Just go to your local Kim and Johnson's and have a look around.

Come on dude, seriously? Those are perhaps two of the most awful goddamn books crappy hogwans shove into new teacher's hands and tell them to teach one page per day.

The entire Let's Go series is absolute F'ing crap. Same for English time.

For beginning Grammar learners, Kindy to low Elementary I recommend Jump Grammar. For experienced Kindy to Mid-Elementary then the Grammar Time series is excellent.

I would recommend the Grammar Time series for all Elementary learners.
