I made the jump to Korea in February of this year, but was "kicked out" for failing the THC portion of the drug test. It was honestly a false positive and I even had a second test soon after that was clear, but the school's director wanted nothing more to do with me. She said the doctor would send my first results to the immigration department and it could cause a scandal for her school. Apart from ignoring the second drug test the director was quite decent about it really and only charged me for the flight over and not the 3 weeks of staying in the school's apartment.
Here's the weird thing. She pushed through my ARC, which I got to keep, but then had my E2 changed to a 30 day tourist visa. Basically, I wasn't deported per se but only had my contract terminated and my teaching visa revoked.
What does this mean? To the best of your collective knowledge do you think I'm barred from ever teaching in Korea? Is there any way to find out if I'm on the quasi-mythical BLACKLIST?
I hopped over to Hanoi instead and have been earning my ESL stripes here for the last six months. While the job flexibility, pay and cost of living is nice in Vietnam, the everyday mayhem of the traffic, the pricey visa extensions, corruption and general lack of hygiene has me thinking of giving Korea another go. Or Taiwan perhaps except that the earthquakes and typhoons are something I'd rather avoid. Anyway, that's beside the point, except that I enjoyed my three weeks in Korea and would like to return if it's possible. |

IF your ARC was actually processed and you turned it in to cancel your status of sojourn then there is no reason for you to not return (it was an employer issue and not an immigration one).
If your ARC was not processed then there is a very SMALL chance of it being an immigration issue but I strongly doubt it.
Either way, the only way to know is to re-apply for jobs and see if Kimmi approves you or not.
