I have just finished my Masters and I am planning to return to Korea in November in time for the University interviews. As my graduation isn't untill next I will not be able to bring my MA diploma with me, so I guess I will have to apply for an E-2 visa.

Therefore, can I still (visa regulations permiting) go to Korea with my documents on a tourist visa, find employemt, and then go to an embassy in Japan to obtain the visa?

Furthermore, if I was to do a winter camp on a C-4 in January, would five weeks (end of the camp to March 1st) be adequate enough time for the E-2 visa to be processed, considering I would go to Japan right after the camp finished.

Any info would be great, particularly from those who have gone down a similar route.

Thanks

Provided you have had a prior E2 and no black mark in your immigration file there is nothing wrong with your plan.
