1.FBI background check, do I need one FD-258 or two? The guy who did it for me said I need to send in two... so I'm kind of confused.
Also, if I need multiple copies for other ESL applications, do I need to resubmit another FBI application?

2. Well, I'm basically a newbie, but I have done some researching. Should I be applying through EPIK or TALK? I just recently graduated with a BBA in finance thou, and I just read about that new policy with the higher standards.

Note: I'm just looking for more opinions (I know there's plenty on the forum and I do read them.)

Sounds like the guy who did your prints was trying to get paid twice. Nowhere on the FBI website does it say you need to send in two sets of fingerprints. Unless I missed something, but I don't think so.

the FBI recommends that you send in multiple copies of your prints if you take them yourself. For my first FBI check I sent in 3 copies of prints on regular printer paper that I took myself. I sent them from Guatemala. I was worried that there might be smudges and render them ineligible. FOr my second check, because i was sure that i screwed up on the first, i sent in a professional set done on cardstock paper at a postal annex store. Got both of the results back within the same timeframe and they both had the same results.

1. Same as the other guy, I sent in prints I took myself - better to send in an extra one. If you're paying for them, and he wants you to pay more, I'd say no and just print yourself. Plenty of instructions online on how to do it.

If you want to get a second copy of your CRC, it's not a bad idea, but remember, they are only valid for 6 months. By the time it's issued and you get the apostille on it, you've got maybe 4 or 5 months on it. When you apply for a job, you DON"T send ANYTHING in until you have the job. So you only need one CBC. In the future, you might need another one, and yes, it takes some time now, but that 6 month window kind of ties your hands.

2. What is a BBA? Does one of those B's stand for Bachelors? If so, apply for EPIK. Talk is for NON college grads.

The RUMORS about the increasing standards are just that - rumors. Sure, getting a TESL/TEFL certificate is helpful, and will put you ahead of other people, but it is not necessary.
