Gmarket + Delivery boxes = WIN
I love it to death. The whole system is leaps and bounds better than what is in Australia. Where you don't get message from the couriers who always come while your out and then leave that little paper saying..OWNED now you need to come to our office to get it or pay for us to come again...
And the savings!! So big, 6 dollar a kilo chicken breast. 20kg bag of brown rice for 27 bucks. Oatmeal for 5 bucks a kilo. Water that is 30 cents for a 2L bottle. Now that I think about it. I think we get about 80% of our food from gmarket. Even vegetables etc that you buy direct from the farms. |

I don't know. I use internet banking. The internet banking is all in English so it is basically the same as home. |

Yes, it is. You make the order and they give you a personalized bank account number to transfer your funds to. |

So what do you do if they come while you're at work? Do they just keep coming to your door? Or do you have it delivered to work? |

They should call if there is nobody at home. Here comes the problem, they don't speak English so you must speak some Korean.
You can ask them to come where you are (workplace)
You can ask them to leave the package at the neighbour's. (landlord in our case who lives in the same building. Many times my wife orders stuffs directly to his place since he is at home most of the time and is cool with this)
You can ask them to leave the package in front of your door (at your own risk)
or You can ask them to come back the following day during a certain period.
If they call and you tell them to leave the package at your door and later is vanishes, there is nothing you can do about it. |

Excellent logistics for stuff already in country, but usually couldn't get the American market items they listed on Gmarket. I had it delivered to my school admin office, but I understand it's taken to the post office for you to pick up if no one is present to receive your deliveries. I missed Ebay and Amazon shopping so badly upon having some new money burning a hole, I wanted so badly to spend a couple months home just to be able to receive mail and parcel post again. And after internet shopping til my hurting over worked mouse hand dropped, I'm more than ready to go back to work. he he he |

Delivery tip: choose to pay the delivery fee (usually 2500) at the door. This will guarantee that they will do their damn best figuring out a way to reach you when you're home. Otherwise, a couple of missed calls and they'll just return to sender. |

These are considered cheap for Korea? Hopefully that doesn't sound sarcastic, I've just never priced chicken breasts at the supermarket here.
Thanks for the links |

Won't the chicken go bad? What if you're down south say in Gwangju? Can we open up an account with our ARC cards? |
