I would like to work at a hakwon.

I just graduated from University of California, San Diego as undergrad.
I recently got TEFL certified.
I had experience working at two different hakwons but only part-time, and only for a couple months each, at Koreatown in Los Angeles.

Since I'm pretty newb, I would expect to get paid 2.1, but since I got TEFL certified, I should get paid 2.2 minimum, right? Is this correct? Not sure how much to ask for during my interviews!

Also, I'm still really confused about getting my bg check apostilled. I read a lot of stuff but I'm getting different answers. I need to get my bg check AND diploma apostilled together (and my university will not notarize my diploma).. so what is a pretty cheap, quick way to get these done?

Thanks in advance!

2.3 sounds reasonable to me.

If I were you I wouldn't go around demanding 2.3 with no experience teaching in Korea. 2.2 is reasonable, and I persoanlly would never go under that. But the market is flooded with teachers now, and many hagwons are hiring teachers that are already in the country. They must be desperate if they are still flying them in.

With no experience you may still get 2.1, they need to see if you can do the job first before giving you more money.

If you take your time trying to find a job and use as many recruiters as you can then you shoul dbe able to find what you are looking for. Just be prepared to wait.

And 2.1/2.2 sounds about right.
