This show was pulled after playing this video.
I thought making fun of the accents was in poor taste.
The one guy trying to explain "fighting" was kind of funny, only because I thought a similar thing the first time I heard it. |

well, what do you expect from "FOX" anything? I'd agree, not necessarily racist but in very bad taste.
the "fighting" part was amusing as anyone not familiar with that Konglish phrase would also be completely confused.
Personally, I think the Asian American and Asian students come across BEST because they don't give a flying intercourse about Colorado, the Trojans and the PAC12. They're actually there to STUDY!!!
what a revelatory concept!!!?????????????
you go the University to study! |

I have always wondered how foreign students are able to get into and then graduate from American universities without native level English skills. USC is a fairly selective school. How can these students even write college level papers? |

they get degrees in "hard" subject/majors. The ones that actually carry value.
No native communication or writing skills required
- science
- engineering
- math
- IT |

It's doubtful the Chinese would grant a foreign scholarship to some kid wanting to study English Literature, unless of course the kid is some famous author at the age of 18.
Also, as a bonus (financially to the university), in Canada they pay full tution. |

I'm white and I have no idea what FIFA, EUFA or EPL stand for.
I can tell you all about the PAC-12, WAC and NFL, though.
BTW-I recently found the meaning of "CHAV", and I'm guessing it has something to do with FIFA/EUFA/EPL.

The "fighting" thing was kind of funny in an awkward way. The kid seemed to think that the reporter was a total dolt because he wasn't familiar with the expression "fighting" which, after all, comes from an English word... I like to see Konglish cut down to size-ee.
All in all, though, the video was mortifying. |

Except that Asian students at US schools have drop out rates higher than that of American students. |
