I bought a kilt in Scotland and the shop who made it for me have sent it to Korea by DHL. There have been alot of problems but now it is in Korea but the website says "clearance delay." I phoned DHL in Korea but they need a 10 digit tracking number. The kilt makers gave me a 5 digit tracking number.
I am wondering if anyone else has experienced a similar problem. Will I need to pay some kind of import tax? The kilt is worth 400.
I have contacted the kilt makers but thought I would post here too.
Thanks. |

If the value on the delivery form is shown at 400 pounds, it is very likely you will need to pay taxes on it. Based on personal experience, for clothing, any single delivery valued at W150,000 including delivery cost is taxed, unless you get very, very lucky (I got this lucky once, and had a box left at my door, which thankfully, was not stolen).
I can't give you any info on tracking numbers with DHL. |

Customs should contact you with the information that's on the package to let you know what's up. |

Thanks for the replies. It has been in "clearance delay" for five days now. Is there any way I can phone them and ask what the problem is. I checked the website and phoned 82-42-472-2120 but i was on hold for ages.
Also instead of 82 should I phone 042-472-2120 or just 42-472-2120? |
