T'way (formerly Hansung Airlines) will start direct flights from Incheon to Bangkok Friday.

The daily flight will depart from Incheon at 8:30 p.m. and arrive in Bangkok at 12:05 a.m. The return flight departs at 1:25 a.m. and arrives at 8:25 a.m.

Hope it lasts and does well-- but with Tomato Savings Bank as one of its two main investors, it doesn't sound all that promising...

Their fares are a joke!

I went on their site to see what the fares would be like. One way, they are charging 490,000KRW. So that means round-trip of over 1,000,000KRW (when you factor in taxes)!!!

When will we get some real "low-cost" airlines here? Sure, AirAsia and Cebu Pacific offer some great fares...but I'm talking the local low-cost airlines...some of them started off with good fares, but have since been raising them ever since.

Give T'way time but considering that both Jeju Air and Jin Air aren't cheap at all despite being "budget" carriers, I won't hold my breath.
