I have never bought an Apple product, but we used to have Apple II-es in elementary school, and macs in high school and university.

while i don't personally use apple products (not since the original shuffle came out and iTunes raped my computer), his influence has had far reaching effects on the industry -- for the better. hate to see him pass this early.

To be honest, I never liked the man. I found him to be all too smug and self-congratulating. However, I do recognize the huge impact on not only the technological landscape, but also the popular culture. He was definitely a man with a vision.

I respect his innovation, but he was not the best human being!
he never donated any of his money to the poor! NOTHING!
you make billions of dollars, throw a little back into the community, sure he doesn't have to, but to me that's just not cool.

Steve Jobs was no Jonas Salk. He didn't donate his technology for the betterment of humanity. He developed technology and put it up for sale.

He got paid.

He died.

The end.
