Hey all,
I was offered a position at a school in Dobong and was wondering what people's thoughts were on the area. I don't need much by way of nightlife, but don't want to find myself in a boring, or dangerous, part of town. Any input would be greatly appreciated.
thanks! |

It is a big district, where in Dobong? Closest subway stop?
As far as dangerous though, no where in Korea is dangerous unless you go out of your way looking for trouble. The only place I can see as remotely dangerous in Dobong would be Suyu and only then if you are into prostitution, illegal gambling and fights since the area is notoriously run by the mob. |

There are a few subway stops: Mia, Suyu, Ssangmun, Chang-Dong
These are all on the light blue or line 4 subway. There are others, you can check the website:
www.smrt.co.kr for the subway map of Seoul
It's a fairly decent area with a few Emarts, Homeplus, Lottemart. There are bars and restaurants and behind Suyu, Ssangmun there is a national park.
My co-workers and I live in the area. We like it. |
