I have read several comments regarding working conditions at The Princeton Review for their SAT summer intensive sessions, but the money issue still seems confusing. My contract promises to pay different hourly amounts for each of the following: teaching hours, SPA classes (I don't know what that is), conversation, and development. Additionally, there is a very small hourly rate for proctoring and training.
Can anyone explain to me the ratio of each of these hours? My contact at TPRK says that there are only 6-9 proctoring hours per month, which is good, but what about the other stuff? I would hate to discover that the money is not as advertised.
I also noticed that there is no specific rate for preparation. Do teachers not get paid to prep? If this is the case, how much free prep is actually involved?
Personal stories of employment would be much appreciated. Thanks! |
