I need a new school next year. I want to stay in my area. There are a bunch of other schools around here. What would be the best way to contact these places and inquire about an opening or interview? |

Your best bet is to just walk in during school hours and ask. I think phoning is a little less likely to produce positive responses. Maybe a little strange, but if they're looking for someone you will be making there life really easy. |

Cold call. 10 schools and you will get some interviews.
25 and you will get a job.

I prefer just to walk in and ask, show that you want a job. Plus you can create a good first impression on how you dress. But calling to ask wouldn't hurt, rather than do nothing. Be proactive.

If you've got a chance to go see a school in person, you'd be foolhardy not to go around prospective places instead of just phoning.
Dress well, go armed with an impressive resume, business cards, and if you have any video demo of your classes/any educational presentations or publications, take something like an iPad along as well so that you can show people. Smile a lot, and with the schools you like the look of, insist on setting up an appointment with the person who has the hiring power. |

Try to get know some people working there first and get the inside scoop first before knocking on the doors. |

Calling is an option but going in person and asking to meet the director there is smarter.
Dress up, bring your documents and go out there. |

why don't you call first, and if they have something available, then do a walk in?? unless all the schools are really close to each, then i guess it wouldnt matter... |
