|
|
I will be leaving Korea at the end of my contract this year. I found my own apartment and paid the key money. I've lived in this apartment for a few years now. The owner has said that he will check out the apartment before I leave to determine whether or not I need to pay for any damages.
1. I have mounted a TV on the wall. Should I remove said TV, patch the holes and re-cover with wallpaper or do you think this is okay?
2. I have had two air conditioners installed. Both are wall mounted. Same question applies. Should I remove the air conditioners and fill in all holes?
Thanks |

| the answer to it all is YES. make sure you do a damn good job too, or else he can say that you put holes in his wall and can charge you damages (its happened before) and just sell your air cons/tv if you are not taking them with you. better safe than sorry |

Why not have him look at it first and then find out? If he is going to say, "no big deal" then you will save work and money. If he doesn't like it, then you can try to fix it.
You think he is really going to hold off complaining? |

Aye, I think it's worth asking the landlord first. Most will be delighted you're leaving behind the aircon (if you are) - it just means they have that to advertise when trying to rent it out next.
Let him have a look and see what he says. If he complains, say you'll take care of it. |

Holes in walls are expected and normal wear and tear. If your landlord complains then he might be building up to shaft you. But I doubt he will.
Presuming you're taking the two aircons and the TV, then just say nothing about the holes.
Just don't mention the holes. Don't draw attention to them. He'll see them no doubt, but he'll not be too worried. They aren't considered serious damage. |
