Mrs cj1976 is hankering for some western breakfast, so tomorrow we are going to head to Itaewon/Haebangchon to get our eat on. A good buffet with lots of bacon, sausages and pancakes would be the just the ticket.
Any recommendations?

The All American Diner has some pretty damn good breakfasts. It is closer to the Noksapyeong side of the main Itaewon street. It is on the second floor and has a gigantic sign, you can't miss it.

While i don't know any buffett style breakfasts, i do fancy the breakfast at All American Diner in Itaewon (3rd floor -- closer to noksopyang station). You could also try the breakfast at indigo or le vert in HBC, but not as good and not as much selection IMO.

Butterfingers is the best I've had in Korea, but it's not in HBC/Itae.

Butterfingers is only the hallowed shrine of the institution of American/Western breakfast. You probably wouldn't be interested...

all american diner sucks. butterfingers is good but the only locations are gangnam (near the BK) and apgujeong (also near a BK). in itae the best breakfast is the flying pan or waffle factory, the wolfshound has decent breakfast too...if you don't mind the quick cab right though, the banana grill by the hanam junction (한남 오거리) is prob the best of all the places i've been to in korea.

The wolfhound also does a good fry up. Traditional Irish breakfast which is the same as an English one and I would imagine an American one.

I think it consists of fried bacon, eggs, hashbrowns, pudding, tomatoes and baked beans.

Maybe the only thing with an Irish breakfast is that it comes with a cup of Lyons tea instead of tetleys.

BTW the cholesterol levels must be off the freaking charts with this.

I've done breakfast at Sam Ryan's and it's good. I've also been to All-American Diner and the service sucked so bad, I never went back.

I'm not a huge fan of All American (though they do have an okay - and most likely still instant - sausage gravy) but one appeal is that it does bottomless coffee and has a smoking area. Of course, the area that actually looks like a diner is non-smoking and the smoking area is one of the tackier settings I've seen.

I vote All American Diner. Sausage gravy rocked my world two weeks ago. Chicken noodle soup awesome. Pancakes awesome.

True though that the service is consistently terrible. Keep that in mind and then you won't get annoyed. Food is really good.

Good tip. I never notice bad service but then I'm usually setting up fort for 2-3 hours.

For portion sizes and relatively low price, All American Diner is where it's at for me. For quality and high(er) prices, Sujis (across the street from exit 3 of Noksapyeong, toward Itaewon) is excellent.

That said, there are a lot of places mentioned in this thread I've never even heard of. For example, which station is Banana Grill at? Hanam station? Do you happen to have a phone number or website handy?

Oh, and if you're in Itaewon and price is really no object, there's always the Grand Hyatt.
